Whom would I vote for in 2019?

Happy  Independence Day!

PM Nehru called India’s independence a tryst with destiny, huge for a secular science admiring non practising Hindu to use words, tryst and destiny. Reminds me of Late Karunanidhi, a self professed rationalist, hindu hater and another secularist crying many times that it was in his horoscope that he had to face defeats and sufferings.

Like the British whose merciless sordid and merciless exploitation of India was hailed by distortionist Lutyens as the greatest thing that happens to India and twisted to claim Brits as harbingers of modernism on an ancient civilisation, so were the Nehrus risen to high pedestals in school text books and history. The sacrifice of the Nehrus were mentioned repeatedly without recourse to facts and the imprisonment of Nehru was treated superior to that of others including Patel or Savarkar. Anyone questioning these propaganda were looked down with contempt . It was in late 60s that some political resistance to the Nehruvian era arose and later they too succumbed to the machinations of dynasty and shut shop by turning admirers. Lal Bahadur Shastri was removed from the scene, and occasional non Congress govts could not survive the superior criminal politics of the congress. So in came Morarji, VP Singh, Chandrasekar, Devagowda and went left. Vajpayee survived full term by pleasing all to remain in power and  didn’t mind the company of Abdullahs, Mamata or Mulayam. Finally he fell too despite going out of the way in the name of democracy to please Sonia.

It took more than longish six decades for Narendramodi’s BJP to assume power as the only non congress party with absolute majority ever to assume power. On assuming office, Modi announced that he will present his own audit at the end of his current term but has begun offering details of his governance at the end of fourth year. Much has been debated on Narendramodi’s achievements and it is a fact that he achieved and delivered many times more than the Congress government or any other Govt including Morarji and Vajpayee. India is on the way to fulfilling President Abdul Kalam’s dream of becoming a super power. Congress has this habit of sharing credit for whatever was achieved by Modi Govt and twisting those to which it cannot share credit, as failures. It hurts Congressmen and the dynasty that anyone can work hard incessantly without being a bit corrupt. They look at the lost opportunities to mint money and cry blaming Modi of corruption. Facts don’t matter. So they are in a hurry to cook scams as they did to VPSingh and Vajpayee. Con party recognises that unless BJP is proved to be yet another con party like them , there lies no hope for the future of congress. And dynasty has to pack bags to Italy.

What attracts and irks many about Narendramodi? I recall that when Mahatma Gandhi asked Nehru to share the funds left by the British with Pakistan on partition, there was hullabaloo and cry. Even Nehru resisted. Not that Nehru wanted to protect India funds for the development of Indian people but as documents show that he had the habit of spending without plans as if there was no tomorrow. He spent £100 million pounds in less than three years. Yet Mahatma prevailed on Nehru to share Pakistan’s share. What strikes most of the statesman in Gandhi was his impartiality and being fair even to his enemy. And Narendramodi has been brutally fair to all much to the chagrin of some of his fire brand support base which seeks blood for blood. Narendramodi is no victim.

It is a harsh fact that Narendramodi , the devout Hindu has not favoured Hindus at the expense of another religion. It is also a fact that he has not favoured other religions at the expense of Hindus as was done by all the political parties in India. This unfavouritism of non Hindus irks the non Hindu minorities who were accustomed to enjoying cuddling and pampering only to be left distressed later without any concrete amelioration of their challenges. The weakness of minorities lay in tokenism and Narendramodi Govt has enriched the lives substantially during the last four years than ever. Modi has also come down on some delinquent Hindus who act smart and break laws but this wasn’t enough for his critics. They expect him to fly and shoot down every hindu criminal. So they can occupy the hindu space after having lost the minorities space. But Law and order remains a subject of provincial states and its unethical to expect PM to even threaten others like the Philiphino President. Neither can he behave like President Trump. India is a more diverse nation than any other. The Minorities expect Narendramodi to disown Hindus as was done by his predecessors because of their pavolovian habit. Didn’t PM Manmohan Singh say that Muslims have the first right to resources? Narendramodi strikes to me as a most impartial man. An essential requirement for a true statesman.

Having no idea on dealing with Narendramodi, the opposition will build stories that the rule of NDA is worse than emergency, the rafle deal was greater than bofors, that the minorities are suffering and media is being controlled. In the process, they will be exposing the travesties of emergency, Bofors, Shah Bano, the criminalistics of Christian missionaries, etc. They cannot raise Pro Hindu issues because the Narendramodi Govt has been tough on all criminals whether they were Sadhus or industrialists and doesn’t distinguish crimes through religious prisms as was done by Con party, communists, Seculars and Dravidian parties. Impartiality that was never a quality of Indian polity is seen now.

A leader who fears people who are his voters will act paraplegic. Or may be paralysed in mind to think, focus , decide and implement. Safe pleasing politics has been the bane of India since independence. Many comedians have entertained Indian politics and people have been fooled totally. Many enjoy being fooled. The only exception in history was emergency but that was imposed to protect her own PM chair by Indira Ghandy. Narendramodi comes as a man who has no fear of anything including failures. Restrained by an opaque judiciary, he has his limitations despite being the Prime Minister. But look at his surgical strike in Pakistan, the bold standoff at Doklam with China, Demonetisation, GST reforms, Triple Talaq, etc. These were history shaking efforts. Timid, insipid governance is no governance. Narendramodi stands above all.

When he landed in Delhi as PM designate, Narendramodi had no expertise with the bureaucracy in New Delhi nor was he accustomed to the procedures in parliament and government. He was a true novice despite his experience as CM. Central government is a different cup of tea. But Modi learnt very fast. He equipped himself with the necessary skills on the job. Bringing in reforms in bureaucracy or culling out outdated laws that continued to exist, was tough. Thousands of laws were made void and bureaucracy was made accountable. Bureaucrats were forced to be available in office. Corruption which was flaunted as an inevitable practice was brought down with an iron hand. No wonder some sloth bureaucrats still resist him as they miss the cool environment of daily vacations seated on their chairs, doing nothing but receiving tax free cash every day. It was for the first time in history of Indian government that a Prime Minister slogged on all days of the year. Also Narendramodi was the first PM never ever to have taken a day off from office. Unacceptable for some envious detractors of his, right?

New Delhi was a haven for politicians without power or office. Also for retired bureaucrats and journalists. Running to few thousands, they had occupied government property and were paying a nominal pittance as rent. All of them were ineligible for such accommodation. But earlier please all governments imagining themselves as British royalty were dispensing favours to these ineligible persons at huge cost to the exchequer. Rule of law means that the law is equal to all. Narendramodi government ensured favouritism ended. All those who were displaced from their palatial homes were obviously despondent and will fight Narendramodi tooth and nail in the 2019 elections. In the same way, he stopped giving free rides to journalists on foreign travels which bruised many egos. What’s your choice? Freebies are not the Narendramodi thing. Not for the rich.

Those who want to find flaw with this BJP government, poke his tours abroad. By all due considerations, Narendramodi ought to have taken atleast a vacation abroad or atleast locally with his mother in the example set by the Nehru family, Vajpayee or Devgowda. Maybe it would have refreshed him. But here is a PM, who loves his job, doesn’t crib about it, never spoke of himself in self importance and hates vacations. It’s a fact that Narendramodi is respected throughout the world because of his focus and work ethic. After spending the day with a foreign dignatory, he flies back home travelling in the night so he can work during the following day. Office tours are scandalised as foreign jaunts by the envious and cynical. No such words for Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi who escape on vacations frequently.

The greatest thing about Narendramodi is his inability to be distracted by criticisms. Often he laughs at them. This shows he has a self effacing quality for an average Indian politician is expected to wallow in self importance. He simply focuses on work and delivery. Tamils who are victims of Dravidian propaganda against PM were shut up when Narendramodi inaugurated homes for Srilanka Tamils along with ambulance services. He has sanctioned mega projects for Tamilnadu despite a poor base in the state which means that PM is focused on work and he doesn’t care whether his projects please or displease people. Point is he is convinced of his projects. Period. Such is the mettle of the man called Narendramodi.

Lutyens are always looking for opportunities to propagate for Rahul Gandhi as the greatest intellectual India has ever seen. As they see him as a viable leader to PM Narendramodi. Even his jokes are interpreted as profound. Recently in Singapore, he spoke on connecting scan machines to bring in a medical revolution. My friend Sumant Raman, a Pappu addict interpreted it as connecting data for diagnosis. Sumant also discredits WB, IMF data and still believes we are in British era. Despite being comparatively young, RG belongs to the outdated 18th century British era and his genius will be the undoing of the dynasty and because of his Lutyens supporters. Good for the people that Lutyens stands exposed as charlatans.

Unlike Vajpayee or VP Singh, PM Narendramodi has realised that being gullible is no virtue. He has to be clever to be politically successful. Some rhetory is inevitable. Some political counter games must for survival. I can compare him with many greats of the past but I believe , Narendramodi is a result of the tapas of our ancestors to save India, her culture and civilisation. Come 2019,Iam sure that the Gods who blessed us with a character called Narendramodi will not let us down. It’s India’s time folks. India had not seen an unselfish leader at the helm of government who was totally incorruptible for centuries and we are witness to Dharma in action.

Vote for Modi in 2019! And be part of history! Vande Mataram!

Miracles of Mahaperiyava - Chapter I

Shri Chandrasekara Saraswathi of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam , the finest among sages of the last millennia, continues to touch and heal the lives of believers going beyond the limitations of caste, religion, linguistics and nations. Devotees are struck in awe when incredible stories of His miracles are shared by Queens and Kings, Presidents and Prime Ministers as well by celebrities of many hue and colour. Having experienced His miracles first hand, I went about on a search to know the other common lives that were blessed by our Sage but hitherto were never revealed in public. This is compilation of a series of first hand reports. Hope you will be inspired by this narration. All the stories are real life incidents and are verifiable. Story #1 KBR worked in TVS group of companies at Madurai. A devotee of Mahaperiyava, he would visit him whenever work permitted but all his decisions centred on the grace of Mahaperiyava. His first child, a daughter was afflicted by polio and he thou

EVR Periyar: A checkup on facts & propaganda

If you were ever revolted by the plethora of roadside statues in India, then credit for this ever rising craze should go to that one man tsunami that brought about that infamous “Statue Culture “ to EV Ramasamy Naicker known as Periyar to his followers. As was usual with Dravidian politics, this focus and obsession of statues  ironically began as an anti idol movement to reason out faith and beliefs of Hinduism to pamper to Islamic and Christian fundamentalists and as admiration of anything western.  Breaking of idols of Lord Ganesha in Salem when Congress ruled Tamilnadu and India during early 1950s didn’t elicit even murmurs of intolerance as Hindus were subdued for over a thousand years and Secular congress was a mere continuation of that colonial British rule that was indifferent and insensitive to majoritarian Hindu sentiments. EVR called Idols as lifeless stones and called out those beliefs of honouring and worshipping them as crass and superstitious. Because of fundamental con

Recent Experience at Kamakshi’s abode Kanchipuram

After going through the trauma of spinal fractures & the surgery that followed it was my first visit to Kanchipuram in three years. Earlier I have had extensive contacts for darshan as a government official but this time we decided we will be just another ordinary disciples.  We had one Chandrasekar, a junior employee now retired to guide us to temples. When we reached Kamakshi temple, we found huge crowd of thousands. I was wondering how we will have darshan of Lokamata but was sure that She will find a way for us. I was apprehensive about standing in the queue as I was scared someone might push me and hurt my back inadvertently. As we paused in confusion, I found a friend who is a Judge of Madras High Court entering the temple in all paraphernalia with his family. I thought of shouting out for him but something deep down restrained me. Our chaperone Chandrasekhar made few honest phone calls and took us near the back door VIP entrance where a hundred were waiting for darshan. Sudd
