Recent Experience at Kamakshi’s abode Kanchipuram

After going through the trauma of spinal fractures & the surgery that followed it was my first visit to Kanchipuram in three years.
Earlier I have had extensive contacts for darshan as a government official but this time we decided we will be just another ordinary disciples.

We had one Chandrasekar, a junior employee now retired to guide us to temples. When we reached Kamakshi temple, we found huge crowd of thousands. I was wondering how we will have darshan of Lokamata but was sure that She will find a way for us. I was apprehensive about standing in the queue as I was scared someone might push me and hurt my back inadvertently.

As we paused in confusion, I found a friend who is a Judge of Madras High Court entering the temple in all paraphernalia with his family. I thought of shouting out for him but something deep down restrained me.

Our chaperone Chandrasekhar made few honest phone calls and took us near the back door VIP entrance where a hundred were waiting for darshan. Suddenly a purohit known to him arrived but his request to guards to permit us was turned down. Purohit entered the temple and suddenly came out bringing with him some official of temple administration who was there to receive my judge friend. He ordered that we be allowed into the precinct close to the sanctum sanctorum. So despite crowd we were in within half hour.

As everyone sat on the floor, I stood in a corner as I can't sit on the floor because of the surgery I have had. In few minutes, arathi was over and surprisingly all the purohits left to see off the VIP. So it was my wife & our daughter standing close to Kamakshi. Ten feet away miraculously and none between us.

We were stunned at the darshan. And and I felt that She was looking at us sideways (கடைக் கண்ணால்). Suddenly Her eyes rolled as She smiled & I thought I was probably imagining in sheer Bhakti. But it was mesmerizing. Drops of tears rolled down. I cried amma within. It seemed a yuga. No arathi was done for us but we were exhilarated.

Few minutes later, we left with folded hands and stood beside my judge friend who was receiving temple honors as he was blocking the exit. He saw me, hugged me & temple honours was bestowed on me and the family.
Wife made a donation to the temple at the office.

While going around the temple I asked my family whether they experienced anything unusual. Our daughter asked me whether Kamakshi was giving side glances & rolling her eyes. She wondered how this can happen?

I realised that we all were blessed by Kamakshi & the trance still lingers on as we look at Her mercy in gratitude. It was unbelievable.

Next day we visited the Mutt. Though I have had darshans of Mahaswami & Periyava, honestly this was our first darshan of Balaperiyava. As Periyava had attained mukthi a few days ago, there was a huge crowd.
Balaperiyava was walking slowly talking to devotees around him in whispers. The crowd pushed us back to make way for him. We stood in a distant corner. I thought that if Kamakshi can bless us in abundance then She will arrange for the blessings from Balaperiyava. I wanted to certificate from Balaperiyava about the previous night's experience too. I wasn't sure how that can be done though. Feeble minds seek reassurance right?

Balaperiyava was ten rows before us, went past us, was rolling his eyes on those around him. Spoke to few. I was sure that there was no way he can help us as we have not met him as family. Wife had taken blessings from him in mid nineties as Head of Security in Madras Refinery Ltd couple of times.

Then another miracle happened. Balaperiyava suddenly turned back, appeared to search for someone on his right & then fixed his eyes on me and our daughter. He smiled at us & waved right hand subtly in blessing. Wife was shorter and hence probably didn't notice. There's no way a believer can be disappointed. I realised that as He has recognised me in the crowd, I will accept him as my Guru. I continue to meditate on Him now. Our daughter speaks to His picture too.

We had darshan later of Brindavanam of Mahaaperiyava & Periyava before leaving for home.

Feel purpose of life has been accomplished in a time span of less than 24 hours.

Miracles of Mahaperiyava - Chapter I

Shri Chandrasekara Saraswathi of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam , the finest among sages of the last millennia, continues to touch and heal the lives of believers going beyond the limitations of caste, religion, linguistics and nations. Devotees are struck in awe when incredible stories of His miracles are shared by Queens and Kings, Presidents and Prime Ministers as well by celebrities of many hue and colour. Having experienced His miracles first hand, I went about on a search to know the other common lives that were blessed by our Sage but hitherto were never revealed in public. This is compilation of a series of first hand reports. Hope you will be inspired by this narration. All the stories are real life incidents and are verifiable. Story #1 KBR worked in TVS group of companies at Madurai. A devotee of Mahaperiyava, he would visit him whenever work permitted but all his decisions centred on the grace of Mahaperiyava. His first child, a daughter was afflicted by polio and he thou

EVR Periyar: A checkup on facts & propaganda

If you were ever revolted by the plethora of roadside statues in India, then credit for this ever rising craze should go to that one man tsunami that brought about that infamous “Statue Culture “ to EV Ramasamy Naicker known as Periyar to his followers. As was usual with Dravidian politics, this focus and obsession of statues  ironically began as an anti idol movement to reason out faith and beliefs of Hinduism to pamper to Islamic and Christian fundamentalists and as admiration of anything western.  Breaking of idols of Lord Ganesha in Salem when Congress ruled Tamilnadu and India during early 1950s didn’t elicit even murmurs of intolerance as Hindus were subdued for over a thousand years and Secular congress was a mere continuation of that colonial British rule that was indifferent and insensitive to majoritarian Hindu sentiments. EVR called Idols as lifeless stones and called out those beliefs of honouring and worshipping them as crass and superstitious. Because of fundamental con
