Miracles of Mahaperiyava - Chapter I

Shri Chandrasekara Saraswathi of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam , the finest among sages of the last millennia, continues to touch and heal the lives of believers going beyond the limitations of caste, religion, linguistics and nations. Devotees are struck in awe when incredible stories of His miracles are shared by Queens and Kings, Presidents and Prime Ministers as well by celebrities of many hue and colour. Having experienced His miracles first hand, I went about on a search to know the other common lives that were blessed by our Sage but hitherto were never revealed in public. This is compilation of a series of first hand reports. Hope you will be inspired by this narration. All the stories are real life incidents and are verifiable.

Story #1

KBR worked in TVS group of companies at Madurai. A devotee of Mahaperiyava, he would visit him whenever work permitted but all his decisions centred on the grace of Mahaperiyava. His first child, a daughter was afflicted by polio and he thought of her as a burden despite her cheerful nature as she never seem to consider her limitation as one. But those times were different. A girl child wasn’t welcomed as much as a son was and a physically limited girl child weighs on the mind of parents almost as a curse. As time flee, the girl grew up, completed her Masters. As soon as her academic result was revealed, KBR ran to Mahaperiyava and stood before him with stress running lines on his forehead and with squeezing palms. The Sage looked at him benevolently and understood the cause of his anxiety. KBR’s concern was who will ever marry his polio stuck daughter in this era when physical features were considered primary requisites for a bride? Our Saint looked at the devotee, smiled and gave away fruits as blessing. Yet the mortal he was, on return to Madurai  KBR could not totally leave his anxiety behind, started taking sleeping pills and kept praying that Guru will hail down a miracle.

Within couple of months, like spring breeze blessings started manifesting. A proposal arrived from Pune as if by divine direction and as if the groom’s family knew of the bride’s limitations. Wedding was instantly fixed. Marriage was done in less than six months. The groom recently retired as Directer of Finance from Videocon Industries in Aurangabad. The girl became an interior decorator and her Clint included some Bollywood celebrities. Even their only son, a physician was married and they now have a grand daughter. What a happy ending...Jaya Jaya Sankara!

Story #2

Another instance happend in Vellore. About four decades ago this four year old child goes into a coma after an attack of meningitis and was admitted to CMC Vellore. As days passed, his condition shows no signs of improvement and neither did doctors recommend hope as the child forgets even to eat. Then the kid’s uncle, a devout devotee of Mahaperiyava arrived one evening. Brings out a packet of holy ash secured from Mahaperiyava from his pocket and and hands over to his parents for smearing on the child. Then he keeps a picture of Mahaperiyava under the bed. And leaves. The night passed by.

In the morning, the boy’s health parameters miraculously show normalcy. There was no heaviness of the coma he had gone through neither was the memory loss that existed. He even starts to eat, regaining his memory. Obviously the doctors in the Christian would have been surprised  too. Instant healing. This boy has now grown up, is now in USA and teaches Vedanta.

Story #3

This man a devotee of Mahaperiyava had got into womanising since his twenties. He believed that the worldly sensual pleasures were God given as no atom moved without His consent. He would pray to his Guru even before his immoral actions and his defence was he was not forcing anyone. As he aged, he got weary of the habit and wanted to break the shackles. So he started praying to Mahaperiyava for relief from the chain that was around him. He was a gentleman otherwise, kind, compassionate and protective of the poor. But he was dismayed and disgusted with himself now. He even began to pray to Mahaperiyava to get him out of the habit. He was having connects with eight ladies simultaneously when he sought help.

Things moved faster than he imagined. His phone developed problems within a week and he lost some contacts. Couple of the liaisons went vanishing instantly. Someone fell seriously sick. Slowly, he realised some force beyond him was working and seven of the eight connections disappeared in a fortnight. Though he felt it was tough to get himself out of the rut, he boldly decided to act on the last contact by calling the relationship off by a direct call. It wasn’t easy as the habit that had caged him for over many decades gave him mood swings, depressions, boredoms and temptation to revert back. But by the grace of Mahaperiyava , he feels rescued now and saved. No deaddction programs were needed. Mahaperiyava can find the way, if you ask. It was all an absolute, swift miracle.

EVR Periyar: A checkup on facts & propaganda

If you were ever revolted by the plethora of roadside statues in India, then credit for this ever rising craze should go to that one man tsunami that brought about that infamous “Statue Culture “ to EV Ramasamy Naicker known as Periyar to his followers. As was usual with Dravidian politics, this focus and obsession of statues  ironically began as an anti idol movement to reason out faith and beliefs of Hinduism to pamper to Islamic and Christian fundamentalists and as admiration of anything western.  Breaking of idols of Lord Ganesha in Salem when Congress ruled Tamilnadu and India during early 1950s didn’t elicit even murmurs of intolerance as Hindus were subdued for over a thousand years and Secular congress was a mere continuation of that colonial British rule that was indifferent and insensitive to majoritarian Hindu sentiments. EVR called Idols as lifeless stones and called out those beliefs of honouring and worshipping them as crass and superstitious. Because of fundamental con

Recent Experience at Kamakshi’s abode Kanchipuram

After going through the trauma of spinal fractures & the surgery that followed it was my first visit to Kanchipuram in three years. Earlier I have had extensive contacts for darshan as a government official but this time we decided we will be just another ordinary disciples.  We had one Chandrasekar, a junior employee now retired to guide us to temples. When we reached Kamakshi temple, we found huge crowd of thousands. I was wondering how we will have darshan of Lokamata but was sure that She will find a way for us. I was apprehensive about standing in the queue as I was scared someone might push me and hurt my back inadvertently. As we paused in confusion, I found a friend who is a Judge of Madras High Court entering the temple in all paraphernalia with his family. I thought of shouting out for him but something deep down restrained me. Our chaperone Chandrasekhar made few honest phone calls and took us near the back door VIP entrance where a hundred were waiting for darshan. Sudd
