Leave Commonwealth India! Now!

Remember an old Tamil adage which goes like this:
“Your money is mine and mine is mine too”.

Commonwealth is akin to this concept. While Britain’s ego gets pampered as all commonwealth nations are seemingly united under the authority of the Queen, the nations of commonwealth continue to receive a raw deal from UK on all bilateral issues especially on Visas. Indians are discriminated and treated with disdain in UK as was done during the colonial rule. Racist incidents against Indians are not rare in UK. Compare commonwealth  to UK’s Brexit referendum which ran primarily on the issue of immigration. UK was insecure with regulated immigration  so opted for Brexit but was comfortable when they invaded and looted forcibly other nations, as they patted themselves with pride that British empire never ever sees the sun set.

Fact:British colonialism was a brutal cannabalistic force. American philosopher historian Will Durant described Britain “guilty of conscious and deliberate bleeding of India and the greatest crime in all history”. With Bible in one hand & armoury in another, they were a combination of the best in hypocrisy mankind ever saw. Yet Indian leaders like Nehru who were more British than Indian, couldnt understand the depth of grievious injuries wrought to India as they fell victim to British propaganda that they alone can lead India to progress. India with more than 25% of GDP of the earth when the Brits arrived was in ashes with a share of .5% share of GDP when India received independence.

India throughout history has always been an socio economic cultural and spiritual super power. From the much acclaimed golden age of Gupta dynasty to the rule of Chozhas and Pandyas in the South were examples of the might of a civilisation that continued to survived despite onslaughts of Moghul and British rulers. For the expeditions of Rajendra Chozhan in East Asia, about 600-1000 ships formed the navy. Vascodagama who arrived on the largest ship on Europe of his times says he was escorted by ships many times larger than his when he arrived in the Malabar coast. Imagine the vast industry that ought to have backed them and the enterprising spirit of Indians. India's wealth in the 18th century as a great manufacturing nation far ahead of any in Europe or in Asia. Her textiles, jewelry, precious stones, pottery, porcelain, ceramics, metal works in iron, silver, gold and great engineering capabilities especially in ship building made her a power in her own right. It is claimed that Tamilnadu was land to an unique iron refining process and 100s of industries exported products to other nations including Europe in the 17 the century and before. British snuffed out this industry and as was routine even details of these businesses were deleted from history. So they can claim to be the pioneers of industrial revolution as we Indians were taught in school text books.

Truth hurts and when Will Durant’s A case for India was published to expose the criminality of the British, it was promptly banned by the British as it spoke on the genocides, loots and barbarism inflicted by them on India..

Am giving here some brief points for easy reading to enable the understanding of the British on India. These are facts starting with British East India company, a trading company with guns and later taken over by the British crown which systematically maimed a pacifist culturally advanced , manufacturing super economy into a plague struck poverty ridden nation by sheer intensity of greed. They also had the temerity to blame Indian woes on her culture and coined her beliefs as superstitions so they can appear advanced and cover up their own inadequacies. India which claimed that the planet was round many thousands of years ago was superstitious while those who called it flat until recently were truly scientific.

For a period of 1700 years from 1 AD, India was the #1 Economic superpower of the world with honours oscillating with China say statistics. Till the dacoits from England arrived in India as traders. What did they really do and how did they impact a super nation? Please patiently go through these points. Facts are credited to many westerners including Will Durant.

# in 1700s, Robert Clive received presents amounting to $ 1,170,000 from Hindu rulers depending on his favours and guns. Took an annual tribute of $140,000. He was ruthless & said: “When I think of the marvellous riches of that country, and the comparatively small part I took away, Iam astonished at my own moderation”.
#British rape of resources went unabated. Goods imported from India and bought for $2,000,000 were sold for $10,000,000 in UK. Refused to pay local taxes. The East India company shares rose to $32,000 per share.
#Lord Dalhousie passed a decree that whenever a hindu prince died leaving no direct heir, his territory should pass to the British. He annexed eight provinces this way.
# John Morley estimates that during nineteenth century British waged 111 wars on India, pitting Indian soldiers against Indians and millions of India shed blood so India can be slaves to British.
# After 1857 mutiny, atleast 100000 Indian lives were taken mostly blowing them to bits from the mouth of canons.
# A British governor appointed by British crown was empowered to nullify any law passed by the local legislature or to pass any law refused by the legislature. Democracy uh?
# Simon commission recommended the continuation of powers the local legislatures were not permitted to vote and even banned from speaking. Indian interest was totally subservient to the interest of the British crown.
# British raped the economy of India. The once non existent national debt rose to $ 35,000,000 in 1792 became $ 105,000,000 in 1805, to $ 150,000,000 in 1829 to $ 3,500,000,000 in 1929.
#During 19th century India paid $450,000,000 for wars fought for England outside of India with Indian troops. India contributed $500,000,000 to the war chest of the allies, $700,000,000 in war loans , eight lakh soldiers and 4 lakh labourers to fight for British outside India during WW.
# In 1922, 64% of the total revenue was spent on army of fratricides. No other army in the world ever consumed so large a proportion of public revenues.
# Agriculture fell dismally and in Bengal, the most prosperous of provinces saw the average wage of an agricultural labourer to be $ 3.60 per month. The entire holding of a family of six including clothes was estimated at $ 10.
# In Bombay in 1922, despite factory acts, the average wage of a factory worker was 33 cents while the profit of mills was 125%. This was supposedly an off year. Profits reached 200% in better years. This was the British industrial revolution.
# A tariff of 70-80% was placed on Hindu textiles imported into England while India controlled by British was forced to admit English textiles almost duty free.
# Railways were built for purposes of British army and trade. Railways ran in a loss and were supported out from revenues of the people. All the losses running to millions were borne by the Indian people.
#Indians were banned from organising merchant ships on their own. All Indian products were to be carried by British bottoms. A cruelty inflicted on the greatest ship building business of all time.
# In 1927, it was estimated that some 7500 retired officials in Britain were drawing annual pension of $17,500,000 from Indian revenues. Ramsay Macdonald put this figure at $20,000,000 per year.
# Brooks Adams computed the drain of Indian resources by British during the fifty seven years between the Battle of Plassey to Waterloo, as ranging from 2.5 billion USD to 5 billion USD. Imagine it’s value at today’s prices. Must be equivalent to trillions of USD?
# Hyndman in 1906 estimated the annual drain on Indian resources at $ 40,000,000 per year. Montgomery Martin estimated that with a drain of $15,000,000 in 1838 and concluded that during a half century a sum of $ 40,000,000,000 was taken away by British from India.
# The British machinery claimed to spend for public health in 1918, $5,000,000 a year for 240,000,000 people.
# Sir William Hunter ,DG of Indian statistics estimated that 40,000,000 people were unable to satisfy hunger. In 1901, 2.72 lakh died by plague brought from abroad. In 1902, 5,000,000 died of plague. In 1903, eight lakh died. In 1904, ten lakh. So on. Unnatural deaths became routine.
# Famines became the norm in British rule. From 1770 to 1900, 25,000,000 hindus died of starvation.
# in England , the death rate was 13 per 1000 per year. In India it was 32 per year. In 921, the infant mortality in Bombay was 666 per 1000.

The rule of British rule of India was the most gruesome tragedy inflicted by one group on another group of mankind. The British including the present Queen proudly display the loot in n number of their museums with pride and pat themselves for the crimes against humanity on pacifist Hindus. During a visit to Jallianwalabagh, the husband of the present Queen of England, Duke of Edinburgh was nasty enough to claim that Indians deserve to have died there. Attitude of arrogance has not changed a bit. The spirit of commonwealth?

Why should India remain a member of commonwealth and accept the supremacy of a Queen of England despite it being the darkest period in Indian history? Nehru, the admirer of anything white skinned and mocker in chief of hindu heritage found in commonwealth an opportunity for his evening parties while also declining to accept the membership of the United Nations security council proved that he lacked any vision for India. He did not learn from United States of America which refused to accept the supremacy of British crown and refused to join the commonwealth. USA was a new nation with limited history and India with a heritage of many thousands of years can not blow to GB which was solely responsible for the destruction of the economic, social and cultural fabric of Hindusthan. The congress party loved the British and calls itself harbingers of India’s freedom while decimating the contribution of those who don’t belong to the dynasty. Compare this to congress hatred on patriotic RSS that exists even today. Irony is that Seculars including Dravidian and Dalit parties blame Brahmins of yesteryears for socio problems and are unwilling to forgive their descendants who were unconnected to whatever may or may not have happened but are willing to forgive British who wrought havoc on India and Hindus.

India today is on the verge of advancing ahead of UK as an economy on its own merits by 2018 end. There is need to recognise both the past glories and sufferings India has been through. Except for some students who travel to UK for studies after paying exorbitant costs with a hate visa that the students leave the country instantly on convocation, UK holds no interest to India. A Brexit UK will be certainly become Small Britain with Scotland leaving it after the next referendum on the issue. UK’s contribution to contemporary India is almost null and India matters more to England today.

If these gruesome facts were not enough to convince some that India should leave British commonwealth of nations, nothing will. India’s time has arrived and India should realise that petty GB still treats Indians as second rate citizens and created problems on issues like visa and trade. India needs to feel, act, think strong and deliver from strengths.

There is no wealth in British commonwealth. India ought to leave commonwealth  now! Maybe time to disband it too! Unpleasant memories need to be replaced with positive thoughts. Let’s leave this bloody thing British empire and get friendly with all nations on equal terms. Jai hind!

  1. I fully agree that India should come out of commonwealth. The display of stolen Indian items In British museums is a shameless act of the British.
All the loot took place as the Indians were ruled by many kings who were not united.

Miracles of Mahaperiyava - Chapter I

Shri Chandrasekara Saraswathi of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam , the finest among sages of the last millennia, continues to touch and heal the lives of believers going beyond the limitations of caste, religion, linguistics and nations. Devotees are struck in awe when incredible stories of His miracles are shared by Queens and Kings, Presidents and Prime Ministers as well by celebrities of many hue and colour. Having experienced His miracles first hand, I went about on a search to know the other common lives that were blessed by our Sage but hitherto were never revealed in public. This is compilation of a series of first hand reports. Hope you will be inspired by this narration. All the stories are real life incidents and are verifiable. Story #1 KBR worked in TVS group of companies at Madurai. A devotee of Mahaperiyava, he would visit him whenever work permitted but all his decisions centred on the grace of Mahaperiyava. His first child, a daughter was afflicted by polio and he thou

EVR Periyar: A checkup on facts & propaganda

If you were ever revolted by the plethora of roadside statues in India, then credit for this ever rising craze should go to that one man tsunami that brought about that infamous “Statue Culture “ to EV Ramasamy Naicker known as Periyar to his followers. As was usual with Dravidian politics, this focus and obsession of statues  ironically began as an anti idol movement to reason out faith and beliefs of Hinduism to pamper to Islamic and Christian fundamentalists and as admiration of anything western.  Breaking of idols of Lord Ganesha in Salem when Congress ruled Tamilnadu and India during early 1950s didn’t elicit even murmurs of intolerance as Hindus were subdued for over a thousand years and Secular congress was a mere continuation of that colonial British rule that was indifferent and insensitive to majoritarian Hindu sentiments. EVR called Idols as lifeless stones and called out those beliefs of honouring and worshipping them as crass and superstitious. Because of fundamental con

Recent Experience at Kamakshi’s abode Kanchipuram

After going through the trauma of spinal fractures & the surgery that followed it was my first visit to Kanchipuram in three years. Earlier I have had extensive contacts for darshan as a government official but this time we decided we will be just another ordinary disciples.  We had one Chandrasekar, a junior employee now retired to guide us to temples. When we reached Kamakshi temple, we found huge crowd of thousands. I was wondering how we will have darshan of Lokamata but was sure that She will find a way for us. I was apprehensive about standing in the queue as I was scared someone might push me and hurt my back inadvertently. As we paused in confusion, I found a friend who is a Judge of Madras High Court entering the temple in all paraphernalia with his family. I thought of shouting out for him but something deep down restrained me. Our chaperone Chandrasekhar made few honest phone calls and took us near the back door VIP entrance where a hundred were waiting for darshan. Sudd
